Time
How long it takes
Updated 2026-10-18
As of 18 October 2026, HowLongToBeat lists no average for the remaster's main story, extras or completionist categories. The original has usable community estimates, but those are not measured remaster times.
The only averages with a sample
| Game | Main | Main + extras | Completionist |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tales of Eternia (original) | 33 hours | 42 hours | 73.5 hours |
| Tales of Eternia Remastered | No average yet | No average yet | No average yet |
The original game entry supplies the 33 / 42 / 73.5-hour community estimates. The separate Remastered entry currently shows no average in all three categories. These are community reports, not publisher promises. Do not transfer the original's completionist figure into a claim about every remaster achievement or skit.
What I would budget
- Story, skipping optional skits: plan on the low 30s, using the original main-story sample as a ceiling-and-floor hint, not a promise.
- Story plus extras: the original's 42-hour category is a historical reference, not a measured duration for the remaster's skits.
- Trophies and a second play on Unknown: nobody has a stable completionist average for the remaster yet. The original completionist sample is 73.5 hours, and the labyrinth opens earlier now, which cuts some backtracking.
- Boost mode can shorten the grind on purpose. If you turn experience up, your hours will not match anyone's average.
For the purchase decision, read the dated scores on the review roundup and the prices on editions. Neither a price nor a score establishes a completion time.
